The main difference is that Umbro have introduced a new leather material called 'Kanga Touch'.
The 'Kanga Touch' features similar properties and helps to make the Speciali lighter while maintaining a soft feel for the ball. The leather vamps at the front of the boot feature the classic stitch details which hold the shape of the boots while maintaining performance.
The traditional feel of a Speciali still remains along with some new features Umbro have introduced. The famous A-Frame structure that is the main stand out point of the Speciali boots still features. The A-Frame brings together the two halves of the boot and is designed to ensure the support and good fit needed during movement and ball striking. The A-Frame structure features a newly designed lightweight tongue unique to the new Speciali R football boots. All other previous Speciali models have featured the traditional fold-over tongue.
Another new feature is the perforated lightweight compression moulded in-sock with Poron pads which are designed to provide optimum comfort. Designed for optimal stickiness to protect your foot from slippage and rubbing.
The soft leather upper acts as the foundation for new technological innovations designed to improve your ball control.
One of the main features introduced for the new Umbro Geometra Pro football boots is the ECZ Energy Control Zone which has been designed to absorb excess energy quicker for better ball control. The ECZ sits on the instep of the Geometra Pro and is made up of high density foam.
Another key feature is the swerve coated 'grip surface' visible on the inside toe-area of the Umbro Geometra Pro. This material is technically applied to the Geometra vamp to allow an improved ball feel in wet and dry conditions whilst offering better distribution abilities.
Sitting next to the ECZ are new dampening pads positioned towards the inside rear of the boot. Labelled as 'Tejian Medial Pads', the technically surfaced pads contain memory foam for enhanced ball control.
